“Honesty is More Important than Talent.”

February 10, 2010

“Honesty is more important than talent.” (Jon Acuff, Stuff Christians Like)

“No man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth, without caring twopence how often it has been told before, you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.” (C. S. Lewis)

This simple blog post has changed today for me. This morning, I woke up, restless with thoughts that there is this barrier I can’t cross and that I’m a fool for trying.  Now, in light of this profound sentence, I am beginning to unpack my understanding of my own reality in a way that is new and brave and, yes, honest.

I can’t really go into detail right now. But I might later.
