amelie + waffle overload

June 27, 2010

It is a gray and rainy day, perfect for watching “Amelie,” editing some of my favorite photos from trips past and drinking too much coffee. (On rainy summer days, I always like to pretend I’m in France. I’m not really sure why that is.)

Also, I made Waffles of Insane Greatness twice this weekend. (Don’t tell anyone, okay?)

Just tried Marion Cunningham’s Yeasted waffles for brunch with my husband on his day off. Oh, MY! Jim exclaimed over the crispy outside while I was mmmming & yumming away…
When I mentioned that it was the stick of butter in the batter, his response was, “oh, my goodness! We’ll be dead by noon!” To that, I say, “what a way to go!”
After this, I will never make waffles from a boxed mix ever again!!!

    @ Linda!

Yeasted waffles are my next waffle mountain to climb. I loooooovvveeeeed these waffles (and they have no butter in them, either!). And yes, if you have to go, eating waffles is a glorious way to exit this world. 🙂
