fist pump tuesday

February 8, 2011

Here’s what’s making me pump my fist this week:

1. High Fives to Foodie Friends — I wanted to give some much-deserved shout-outs to my foodie friends who are shining up their courage and kicking ass with their ventures. My high school friend Hilary is doing amazing things with her ultra-cute baked goods business in Dayton, Thistle Confections. If you’re in the area and fancy some sweets, she’s your gal. Another tip o’ the hat goes to my friend Kelley, who’s taken bread-making by the horns and ended up with some pretty gorgeous boules in the process. I love seeing my friends succeed — I have much to learn from you both, Hilary and Kelley!

2. Cheese Platter SammiesThis sandwich, featured on the lovely Emma’s blog, From Scratch, makes my mouth water. Mostly, I can’t lie, because the combination of tart apples and Gruyere makes me think of a cheese platter. And the thought of a whole plate of just cheese and fruit just really makes me happy (it doesn’t take much). I know what I’LL be buying on my next trip to the grocery.

3. Pillows Full of Giggles — I saw this pillow on life according to celia and I laughed out loud.

Someday, when I have a mister roaming around the house, I really want this pillow. Mostly because it’s so utterly silly and it’s good for you to laugh as much as possible. Also, with Valentine’s Day coming up, we all get infected with a little bit of schmoopyness. (Extra props to my “other” Caroline for coining one of my favorite words.)

All right, lovebirds. Share your fist pumps!

Thank you for the shout out! I don’t know if I’m succeeding per se, but I’m making a good go of it at the very least. I’m rebranding too- (trade mark issues)- and I’ve switched to WordPress!

I’ll let you know when it is all complete.
