fist pump tuesday

April 19, 2011

Pump, pump it up! Here’s what’s getting my feathers ruffled this week:

1. Gwyneth Talks Duck — I listened to this today during work and, as much as I would like to dislike Miss Paltrow for being nearly perfect at everything (seriously!), I was impressed by her sincere words and passion for good food around a family’s kitchen table. Give it a read or a listen!

2. Easter Basket, Easter Basket, What Do You Hold? — This past week at school, our class made “showpiece” Easter baskets to show at our school’s graduation and at the school’s restaurant. My friend Holly and I worked on making a rustic, vintage-inspired Easter basket, made entirely out of dead dough (a basic, crafting dough made from several types of flour, spices for color and a sugar syrup). We worked really hard on this and I am pretty proud of the results! Check it out!

3. Foodie Brides, Hear Hear! — While I’m not in the market for a wedding, I have a handful of friends who are and one of them, Lindsey, sent this my way. I absolutely love the use of artichokes, herbs and even carrots in these bouquets. If you’re getting married sometime in the near future and are looking for a different way to approach doing flowers, give this a gander!

What is making you smile this week?
