of grasshoppers + dirty aprons
I have lots to tell (and show) you guys from my wonderful trip to Washington DC this past weekend. I hope to post a big photo round-up later this week, but for now, here’s a nibble.
It involved a lot, A LOT, of eating. In three days, we managed to eat dessert eight times. There were red velvet cupcakes, traffic-stopping vegetable curries, and blackberry mint juleps. There was Russian classical music in the Library of Congress and exactly two blisters from walking around Capital Hill in high heels. But mostly, there was a hefty amount of time with some of the friends I love best.
Also, I ate a grasshopper taco.
It was very crunchy, salty and I was terrified to look too closely at it, for fear I would freak out. It was one of the bravest moments of my life.
Now that I’m back home, I started my internship yesterday at 3 a.m.. I walked off the plane a little after midnight and after two hours of sleep and some serious coffee intake, off I went. I just got home from my second day and am readying to catch a few winks. While the weird hours are a bit…weird…, the getting paid in cinnamon rolls, baguettes and some serious KNOWLEDGE is 100% awesome.
More delicious photos to come!
Enjoy your day!
